DanBred is pleased to announce that we have signed an agreement with Chiu-Nichi Agro Resources Phils Inc. to establish a multiplication herd in the Philippines. This is merely one step on our journey to increase presence in South East Asia – an important and interesting market. We are excited to be able to offer our world-class breeding stock to the Filipino farmers soon.
The multiplication, which is located on the Island of Luzon, will receive the first breeding animals from Denmark later this year, and will ultimately consist of 1,200 GP sows. The farm’s goal is to produce 9,900 DanBred Hybrid PS gilts and 500 DanBred Duroc boars annually to supply the repopulation needs of the Philippine swine industry.
Gerard LIanes, Area Sales Manager for Asia in DanBred, says,
“This partnership with the Chiu-Nichi Group paves the way for the Filipino swine farmers to get easy access to the Danish pig production’s efficiency and productivity.”
Our vision to become a top three leading company in the global pig genetic business, requires that we are present in the world’s largest markets, including Asia. Thomas Muurmann Henriksen, CEO of DanBred, declares, “South East Asia is a key market for us, and we’re very excited to build new partnerships here.” In recent years, DanBred has been determined to invest more in South East Asia, particularly on the employee side: “The Philippines has been one of our focus markets in South East Asia, and we’re excited to now reap the fruits of our increased local presence.” explains Thomas Hansen, CCO of DanBred. The Philippines is a geographically difficult country due to the many islands, but also a very attractive market with a stabile price of animals.
DanBred continuously focus on ensuring support to our customers through solutions, service, and guidance. It has been very important to establish DanBred in the Philippines with sales employees as well as technical employees, because we want to support the entire supply chain and take responsibility for our operations worldwide.
Søren Sandgaard Thuesen, Manager of Solutions and Supply Management in DanBred, says, “This is a great example of how we are determined to support our customers across the world with the resources they need to ensure quality and productivity.”
We are very proud to increase our presence in South East Asia through this successful partnership. Chiu-Nichi is the ideal partner on this project, specifically because it is already an established and acknowledged player in the industry. The huge, established client base is very beneficial when starting a new project such as this. The new farm is built according to Danish standards, and all the premium equipment is supplied by the professional Skiold A/S. DanBred places significant importance on ensuring a corresponding product no matter where in the world you buy your DanBred animals!
