DanBred will take its usual place at EuroTier in Hanover in mid-November. Here, particularly the DanBred Duroc-breed will occupy a prominent place at our booth.

From November 12-15, you can find DanBred at our booth at this year’s EuroTier. Here, several Danish and international companies within the agricultural sector will be available and present the latest news as well as network with current and potential customers.
“For us, EuroTier is a large international exhibition where many international guests come by. Therefore, it is very important for us, probably the most important exhibition for us to be at in Europe when we look at an international audience,” explains Key Account Manager at DanBred, Peter Thomsen, to Effektivt Landbrug.
DanBred is ready to attend this year’s EuroTier, where, in addition to Danish employees, you can meet many of our European employees and German partners.

One specific breed is gaining ground
In addition to DanBred’s traditional red-and-white colours, this year’s booth at EuroTier will also be dressed in a special reddish-brown shade, as DanBred Duroc has a high priority.
This pig breed is growing in popularity, and we expect it to be a crowd pleaser.
“DanBred Duroc has contributed enormously to piglet survival in the past year, where our Duroc has performed extremely well in the breeding herds with an improvement of 4 percentage points. This has already resulted in a higher survival rate of 1 percentage point in Denmark, and this year, we expect 2 percentage points in increased survival in the commercial herds, based on the Duroc alone. So, by using DanBred Duroc, you get a more robust pig that is better able to survive. This is really big news, as I see it,” says Peter Thomsen.
So, Duroc will be the big draw that you want to focus on at the exhibition?
“Yes, it is, and then we continue on to the white lines, which have the same breeding goal for piglet survival. Here, the improvement has been around 2 percentage points, and at the same time the breeding goal for sow survival also contributes positively to robustness in general. The breeding goals for the sow breeds will continuously manifest with our customers as the sows are replaced by new DanBred generations. Whereas you get an impact here and now when you use DanBred Duroc as a terminal sire for the finisher pigs,” he says.
DanBred has successfully focused on the DanBred Duroc under the slogan ‘Get Big Fast’ for a few years. This highlights how DanBred Duroc contributes with high growth and excellent feed efficiency, which results in greater efficiency and positively affects the customers’ bottom lines.
Numbers should tell the story
At the same time, EuroTier is also a good chance to meet your industry colleagues and competitors and get an idea of what is going on in the wider breeding industry.
The good story is everything. And if you ask Peter Thomsen, the data-driven story is especially important to turn to for the German customers.
“The German market is genetically a bit of a patchwork quilt with many different stories. Therefore, DanBred’s goal is for the customers to focus on the importance of valid data, which at DanBred is under the umbrella we call ‘Get the proof’,” he says and continues:
“That slogan has been chosen because we can all tell good stories about how we have the best pig etc. But now it’s a matter of getting some clear numbers on the table, and we can bring these to the exhibition. This applies to both DanBred Duroc and our sow breeds.”
He believes that the two slogans and DanBred’s reputation will attract some exciting customers to the booth.
DanBred has been involved in EuroTier from the beginning, and Peter Thomsen has participated at the German exhibition for the past 20 years.
