DanBred is pleased to announce that we have successfully delivered animals to a new, modern multiplication in Romania. This project has been under way for several years, and we are excited to be able to offer our world-class breeding animals to farmers in Romania from a local production site.
DanBred has just stocked our first multiplication in the heart of Romania; and we are proud that the Romanian pig producers will get easy access to the DanBred pigs’ efficiency and productivity going forward. When the multiplication is up and running, we expect it will have 400 sows and produce 3,700-4,000 gilts per year.
We continuously focus on establishing strong presence in the local markets to ensure that our customers have access to high-quality animals worldwide.

We are honoured to increase our presence through this successful partnership, and we hope that with this multiplication, we will contribute to supply the repopulation needs of the Romanian pig industry – following several years of the country, and the industry, having severe issues with ASF. With the establishment of this multiplication, the Romanian pig producers will get access to world-class DanBred Hybrids at a fair cost, even when buying small quantities.”
The multiplication in Romania is very modern with state-of-the-art technology. Focus has been on implementing modern but simple technology, such as filtered air, dry feeding system, cool pads outside, floor heating etc. Our multiplications are always operated by professional pig producers, who are interested in developing their competencies and being challenged to grow and evolve even further.
