Most producers of finisher pigs aim to achieve pigs with high daily gain, where all pigs raised in the same section can be sent to slaughter at the same time (or at least within the shortest period possible). Increased knowledge of the individual pig’s history may help us predict the future daily gain and exactly how long it will take for the pig to reach the desired slaughter weight.
