Multiplication Officer

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Multiplication Officer to oversee and manage all aspects of a DanBred multiplication farm in the Philippines or elsewhere in South-East Asia.

Your key areas of responsibility

Provide professional herd management support for the multiplier farm.

 

  • Oversee the breeding management and mating program as mandated by DanBred P/S to make sure breeding targets and breeder production are optimal and compliant to the agreed multiplication contract.
  • Oversee and help supervise the multiplier farm in terms of maintaining highest animal health status possible for a sound and efficient pig breeder production.
  • Coordinate with farm manager on the overall animal flow and understanding its effect on production.
  • Together with DanBred’s Technical Service Manager and the Veterinary Consultant and Farm Veterinarian (if present) of the multiplier, ensure the health and welfare of all animals in terms of nutrition, medication and environment.
  • Develop and adhere to all standard operating procedures and ensure that all farm personnel follow protocols.
  • Maintain and enforce all biosecurity rules and practices in support of the overall herd health program.
  • Communicate regularly with DanBred Partner Engagement Officer as well as the multiplier farm owner on the updates and concerns of the farm and of the animals.
  • Responsible for preparation of production forecasts and sales planning.
  • Monitor weekly, monthly, quarterly the data management regime and updates to the production management software as well as to the DanBred partner website.
  • Maintain quality control of DanBred genetics and ensure that all animals adhere to DanBred breeder quality standards.
  • Performing all other activities and responsibilities as defined by DanBred P/S.

We are looking for a person that can fulfill most of the following qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, agronomy, or related field.
  • +5 years of pig farm management work preferably in a breeding farm.
  • Experience with the Danish pig farming system and managing of pig genetics from Denmark.
  • Be able to clearly communicate in English both written and spoken.
  • Super-user in the Microsoft suite of apps.
  • Ability to plan, prioritize, and delegate tasks effectively.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations, environmental laws, and agricultural policies.
  • Physical stamina and ability to work in, at times, physical demanding environments.
  • Adaptability and flexibility to handle changing priorities and unforeseen challenges.
  • Communication skills to interact with farm workers, suppliers, and stakeholders both internally and externally.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping and reporting.
  • Willingness to live on-site for prolonged periods and outside your native country.

 

You will be reporting to the Regional Manager Asia with a dotted reporting line to the Technical Service Manager placed in the Philippines as well as to the Supply Management team in Denmark. You will indirectly supervise the staff at the Multiplier farm.
